Will and Courtney had they low key, high style wedding on their family property in Blanco, TX. This particular wedding made my heart SO happy. Courtney and Will wanted a low key, wedding ceremony with close friends and family. It truly felt like a family reunion, that happened to include a quick wedding ceremony. Courtney said she wanted to capture the history of the land, the Texas hill country and the family barn. Much of this area is threaded into Will’s family and where they grew up. She wanted this location to be the “start” her own family. The old school building is where Will’s grandparents went to school. The bride got ready with one friend and her handsome dog, Louie. I love that her dress looked every bit as elegant as a big expensive wedding gown, but it was only cost $86 from an online dress shop, Lulu’s. Seriously, it does not get anymore perfect than that! The first look was at the family barn where big moments have been made for many years. We spent some time dancing around the ranch getting some amazing photos of the bride and groom. The wedding ceremony was at the above mentioned old schoolhouse. There was a generator supplying power and the dinner was cooked by and served by friends and family. I dare say it was some of the best wedding food I’ve had to date. When I lived and shot weddings in Phoenix, AZ, I dreamed and ached to shoot Texas weddings that felt like “home”. Now that I’ve been back “home” in God’s country, I feel like this is the wedding that sums up “Texas” to me. History, beauty, simplicity, low stress and 100% unique and special. I was so honored to be apart of such a cool wedding. I wish these two all the best!
